2. DFC (Dedicated Freight Corridor)
Jaipur also enjoys the privilege of one of the few cities in India with seamless connectivity to DFC (Dedicated Freight Corridor). DFC is a railway route for dedicated freight trains. It is designed to enhance freight capacity while reducing transportation costs for goods. The 1483 km long corridor is designed to support swift double line operations. The DFC is referred to as the spine of the DMIC. It will significantly reduce the transit time of goods from the northern states to the ports on the western coast of the country.
3. The Modern Industrial Gateway
Jaipur is one of the three industrial zones in Rajasthan that is an integral part of the DMIC corridor. The other two being Bhilwara-Chittorgarh and Jodhpur-Pali. The Jaipur Zone will be a gateway to the financial centers like Gurgaon, Delhi, Ajmer, Udaipur, Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, etc.
With 158849 sq Km under its name, Rajasthan forms the majority of the DMIC influence area. With 3 designated stops and dedicated industrial zones in and around the corridor, Jaipur is pegged to be the gateway for Indias urban awakening. In the long term, the DMIC is expected to drive unprecedented and sustainable economic growth.
